Community Service Initiative
Our location for Community Service Initiative programe is at Petaling Jaya called Persatuan Pemulihan Orang-Orang Cacat. Basically, we have to refurbish back the old place for OKU people. On the first day i went there, my heart felt really heartbroken when i saw the places. They used the old table and chair, the interior itself make me feel like I'm one of the OKU people and more depressing. Our goal is to makes the OKU people more into joyful vibe instead feeling more depressing. I'm part of the Group that fixing furniture and paint for make it more better than before. It is also for them to feel more comfortable and more extraordinary.

This is where they practice sewing. They even sell bags made from fabric they sew and its quite reasonable because of handmade.
Our next day, my group and i started to take out all the furniture. The tables we took out the nails and then the top of the table and replace with a new one. The wood itself broke and its quite dangerous for OKU people, they can eat the debris or can caused wound. We also use shellac to the wood table for giving good finishing. We didn't use the chair cause it was too rusty and not even safe to use for the OKU people
Next, we replace the top of the table with a new one. The chair we replace it from ikea including the bookshelf as well. Wanted to choose the yellow color to fit in with the other group's color but it was sold out. The whiteboard we just clean it up because it still good condition to use it. Also painting the door to greyish color to match the theme (from red to grey) This is finishing product
Final Outcome
The total cost overall for Group 2 is RM 1493.05. During our last day on 11 Oct 2017 we were met for Group 3 & 4 present their part introducing the new games & toys to OKU. Their reaction is priceless.
I'm so happy how the outcome look at the end! I would like to thank my group for making a good team work! of course to beloved lecturer Miss Norji and Miss Aida :) thank you for this opportunity for me to experienced this wonderful journey. OKU people is not less normal than us, in fact they are more special than us. God created with every own creativity. This experienced blown my mind away. Couldn't expected that i'll be work on this, my wishlist is now checked
